| Our President,
JACKSON BEWICK, born in 1909, was the last resident Cinema Organist at
our local Majestic, in Reigate, Surrey. Although now suffering
with arthritis in his hands, he still manages to play most of us off the
bench - and does so regularly at our Play it Yourself evenings. |

|
Having been an organist
since the days of the silent movies, we put Jackson to the test one
evening, complete with cine projector - an evening with a difference! |

One of our early ideas for increasing membership was to erect our caravan in Crawley High Street during the annual Festival. We had our Yamaha HS8, a couple of keyboards, music and coffee throughout the day. |

Some years ago, CKC provided an evening's entertainment for nearby Club, Horsham Organ Society. As you can see, some of our members play instruments other than keyboard ... |

RICHARD BOWER and IAN GRIFFIN - playing
together as KEYKLIX - came to Crawley Keyboard Club in 1997 and, by
popular request, returned to play for us again in September 1999.

When Harry Stoneham
came to play for us a second time, he brought along his young grandson, Ian (aged eleven), to make his stage debut on drums. |

We persuaded Margaret Mason to come out of semi-retirement to give us an "Audience with Margaret Mason". She brought along her daughter, Jeanette, who is one of this country's top keyboard artistes, playing alongside such names as Oasis. One of the highlights of the evening was a jam session with Margaret on her Wersi Spectra - in Hammond mode - and Jeanette on a Technics KN5000 keyboard. |

In May 1999 we were privileged to be the only club in the country able to host a concert by the great
Hector Olivera. |
